This is all Boxbot's fault.

I honestly thought I'd update more frequently.  Oh well.
Don't worry, though: this blog ain't dead.  I've just been taking longer on the next story than I expected.  I have the actual story down.  It's just the more technical details that need working out, especially the fact that all the action takes place in zero gravity.

I guess it shouldn't be too big a surprise that it's giving me trouble now.  I've been working on some version of this story for years.  I mean it, years.  I'm not even sure I was in my twenties yet when I wrote the first version.  Part of the problem was figuring out what the story even was.  It only began to come together a few months ago, when I realized one of the two central characters was the wrong gender.

So what have I been doing?  Working at my day job.  Obsessing over the current chapter of my favorite webcomic, Gunnerkrigg Court.  I got a Nook last month, and I've been spending a lot of time figuring out how to build and convert my own ebooks.  Last week I ended up spending a lot of time with relatives--my sister was in town, my cousin was having a baby shower, and my dad's side of the family had its reunion.  And just today I got a manual typewriter I ordered from eBay.  My cousin's husband highly recommended it.

But I promise, there is more to come.  In the future, you can look forward to:
  • Childhood friends reuniting on a space elevator.
  • A school bully from the land of Faerie.
  • A short meditation on evil.
  • Maybe, if I feel so inclined, an excerpt from my novel-in-progress.
