(part one)
Our class buzzed about the new girl that morning. We didn't know much, just that her name was Rina, and she was part of a special exchange program. People wondered if she was rich, or pretty, or ugly, or athletic, or sickly, or something. I just thought she'd introduce herself, take the cards we made for her, and fifth grade would move on from there.
